Andrea G. Artz

Biography
Andrea is a German British artist and photographer based in London. She earned an MFA from the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies, University of Leeds, and studied for her BFA at City University/ Hunter College New York. She also has an apprenticeship degree from the former Bavarian Educational Institution for Photography in Munich. Andrea's VR installation "Rise of Ice Queens" was part of ISEA International Everywhen, Brisbane, Australia, and traveled with iMkonsthall through the North of Sweden. “Rise of the Tidal Island Queens” was shortlisted for the VR Prize by DKB. Recent awards include a-n bursary, 2022; an Arts Council England Lottery grant, 2021; a Mac Dowell Fellowship Award, 2018; a "Developing Your Creative Practice" Arts Council England Grant, 2018; and an Ecce (European Economy) Award, 2017. Solo exhibitions at Neuland Projekt Raum, Bochum 2021; Coleman Project Space, London, 2021; Foyer Gallery, University of Leeds, 2020; Rottstr5 Kunsthallen, Bochum, Germany, 2017. Group Exhibitions include Constellations, ISEA2024 Everywhen, Brisbane, Australia (2024); iM Konsthall Moskosel, Sweden (2024); Format Festival, Derby (2021); Ghost Tide, Thames Side Gallery, London; East Sussex Open, Towner Art Gallery, Eastbourne (2016); Summer Exhibition, Royal Academy, London (2012). Andrea's work is held in the collections of the Museum of London; Charles Dickens Museum; MFAH Houston, and the Museum Kunst & Gewerbe, Hamburg.
